Why does my skin feel tight after washing?

Soap and hot water remove oil along with the dirt, and shaving takes off a layer of skin cells every day. That is why the Daily Face Wash combines mild cleansing agents from sugar and coconut oil with humectants: glycerin, sodium PCA and saccharide isomerate. Clean properly, and leave as much moisture in place as possible.

What your routine does

Wash with a cleanser instead of soap, using lukewarm water. The Daily Face Wash cleanses with mild glucosides and contains moisture-binding ingredients: glycerin, sodium PCA and Pentavitin. Moisturise straight afterwards: the Day Cream SPF 30 during the day, the Night Cream in the evening with five ceramides, lipids that also occur naturally in the skin.

The manufacturer of saccharide isomerate studied the ingredient in a rinse-off product in 50 women with dry skin, seven days against placebo: the moisture content of the skin remained higher 24 hours after washing. That is research into the ingredient, not into our cream.

What you notice

Your face feels tight after washing or showering. Sometimes that lasts a few minutes, sometimes until you apply something.

Around your nose or on your cheeks you may see dry patches or small flakes. After shaving it can sting.
