Why is my skin red after shaving?

Redness after shaving is usually irritation: the blade takes off a layer of skin cells along with the hair. What helps is the order. Wash clean, shave in the direction the hair grows, and moisturise straight afterwards — in the evening with the fragrance-free Night Cream, which contains five ceramides: lipids that also occur naturally in your skin.

What your routine does

Wash, shave, moisturise. The Daily Face Wash cleans your face without soap. Shave in the direction the hair grows and rinse with lukewarm water. Moisturise straight afterwards: the Day Cream SPF 30 during the day, the Night Cream in the evening. That one is fragrance-free.

What you notice

  • Red, burning skin immediately after shaving.
  • Bumps along your beard line or on your neck, sometimes with a hair in them.
  • Bumps with pus around the hairs.

Where it can come from

Three things that look alike. Only a doctor can say which one it is in your case.

How our products feel after shaving has not been tested separately. If you react to certain ingredients, read the ingredient list first.
