How to use it
Apply to a damp face. Massage in gently with circular movements. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Use in the morning and/or the evening. Avoid contact with the eyes.
The order: 1 cleanse, 2 in the morning the day cream, 3 in the evening the night cream.

Why step 1
Clean first, then apply.
At the end of the day there is sweat, sebum and dirt on your face. A cream on top of that goes onto that layer. That is why the routine starts with washing: morning, evening and after exercise.
The Daily Face Wash cleanses with glucosides, surfactants made from sugar and plant oil, instead of soap. It also contains glycerin and sodium PCA, substances that hold water. Soap dries out your skin, writes Thuisarts (in Dutch).
Then step 2 or 3, depending on the time of day.

Pentavitin®
Saccharide isomerate
Binds moisture and helps prevent the tight feeling after washing.
Why it is in there
Washing takes moisture out of your skin as well. This sugar compound is a humectant: in the EU database CosIng it is listed as a humectant, a substance that holds water in the upper layer of the skin.
What the maker measured
The manufacturer studied the ingredient in a rinse-off product at 0.2 to 0.5%: 50 women aged 25 to 45 with dry skin, seven days, randomised and placebo-controlled, measured on the forearm. The moisture content of the skin remained higher 24 hours after washing, and 71% of the participants found that their skin felt better hydrated.

Sodium PCA
Moisture-binding substances that also occur naturally in the skin.
Why it is in there
Sodium PCA belongs to the natural moisturising factor: substances your skin makes itself to hold water in the outermost layer. In the face wash it sits alongside other humectants, including urea and niacinamide.
